Hi 👋 I'm Valerie, software developer, math enthusiast, aspiring polyglot based in Waterloo, Canada.

When I'm not studying Systems Design Engineering at uWaterloo, I'm trying to solve any problem I can get my hands on. I am currently working as a Software Engineering Intern at Shopify. Previously, I worked at an AI-chip startup called UntetherAI, recently acquired by AMD. I tinkered with object-detection models to enable autonomous vehicles.

Outside of work, I tutor highschoolers in mathematics, creating videos that would remind you of 3Blue1Brown.

But, I could be kept busy for hours with anything linguistics-related. I am currently studying Classical Arabic and Mandarin Chinese. I have acheived decent proficiency in both languages.
